I'm Marc Gofstein, and I'm running to be your voice Columbus City Council. It doesn't matter where you live, how much you make, the color of your skin, your sexual orientation or gender identity, or your spiritual practice, I'm running to serve you.
Columbus is known as, "America's Opportunity City." However, many don't feel they have access to that opportunity. Many neighborhoods are ignored, there's tremendous income inequality, systematic racism is widespread, and too many residents feel City Hall doesn't care about them.
As a member of the City Council, I'm going to change that.
I will speak up and speak out on the issues we care about.
I will speak up for our ignored neighborhoods and work to fix the crumbling streets and gutters, and lack of access to groceries and other necessary services.
I will speak up for real police reform that addresses systematic racism, demands accountability, and focuses on public safety, not over-aggressive enforcement.
I will speak up for our homeless and work for a comprehensive plan that doesn't simply put people into a shelter with a cot and a plate of food but gets them back onto their feet with dignity, care, and compassion.
I will speak up for a real public transportation system that is reliable, efficient, and that is good for the environment. A first-class system needs to maximize access and minimize the need for gas-guzzling cars.
I will speak up for everyone who lives, works, and visits our great city because Columbus needs to be America's Opportunity City for All.
